Inter-area senior competition - Team London

Mark Fenton of Bec has kindly offered to organise the senior London team for the inter-area competition on 21 March. The LKA committee is keen to get Team London up and running again. See Mark's message below.

Team London take on Inter Areas

Ladies and gents. It’s time for you to represent and show the rest of the England that London is the korfball powerhouse we all know is true. It’s poor that we’ve not sent a team down in recent years to a tournament we have a great shot of winning. Not only that but it’s a chance to play with people from other clubs which always makes for a refreshing change. So let 2010 mark the start of London domination.

The LKA are also completely behind the push and will be providing new sharp kits as well as subsidising training.

We will be holding trials on Saturday 6th Feb to form Team London followed by a single training session on 6th March to gel as a team. The inter-area tournament is on March 21st in Luton and once we bring gold back to the south we get invited to play the Home Nations Challenge on 9th May.

The rules specify we can have no players who are training with the Senior international teams of England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland, and our squad may only be 50% Haven Sports Korfball League players so this is a great opportunity to develop players too.

We will deal with the 50% rule depending on who we get to the trials. I would love for all clubs to be represented at the tournament so please come along even if you don’t play for a HSKL club.
